Saturday 20th June, 2026. Various crews and boats were readied for the annual commodores review of the fleet.
Some 30 odd members of the club congregated in the club throughout the day, whilst preparations were made for this annual event.
Left (poised and ready to spring into action, a small gathering pre event.
At 1400 hrs BST there was a briefing in the club after which crews disappeared to their respective vessels.
Meanwhile, the Commodore and her crew made their way to the designated anchoring spot beyond the downstream 8-knot buoy, where they set *M of M*’s anchor and took up station.
While this was going on, the remainder of the available fleet motored downriver to Shortpole and formed up for the cavalcade. The fleet then approached along the south side of the river, headed up and around the 8-knot buoy, before making their way back down past the Commodore’s vessel.
Ensigns were duly dipped at the appropriate moment, with all the dignity and ceremony we could collectively muster.Once the fleet had passed, the Rear Commodore called “break”, and everyone returned to the pontoon or their respective moorings — some rather more neatly than others, no doubt. We then reconvened in the club for a social gathering and a very welcome repast, kindly laid on by Janet, our Commodore, and her Mum, with help from one or three other willing souls.
The photos here, and in the main gallery, have been supplied by Tim from *Blue Streak* and myself from *Pleinair*. If anyone has any more photos they would like included in the gallery, Please send them to me, either via email or whatsapp
There are also several minutes of video from the event. Unfortunately, I have not yet managed to locate the required Round Tuit, but rest assured, it will appear at some point — probably when least expected.
