Our first quiz night in 2025

For our first quiz night, which was held on Saturday 8th March 2025, around 30 members met in the clubhouse, to be put through their paces by our quizmaster for the night, Jo!

The evening started with a plateful of Bangers, Mash and Beans produced by our excellent catering ladies and gents. Unfortunately, I didn’t get any pictures, but it is rumoured that the Rear Commodore, spent his afternoon peeling potatoes.

Soon after dinner the assembled masses arranged themselves into 5 teams of around 6 people, came up with some interesting and weird team names and settled down for several rounds of Navigation, Eastcoast, History, Music, TV and other general knowledge questions.

The whole evening was one of light-hearted humour and at times quite rowdy fun. It’s hard to believe these are grown adults at times. 🙂

Apart from the entry fees, the club raised around £95 on the raffle, and another of Sue’s paintings raised around £45.

Ollie had everyone sing Happy Birthday to him while he was unexpectedly presented with a cake and a single sparkler.

A huge, huge thanks to the galley slaves, and our quizmaster for an excellent evening. Looking ahead and forward to the next one.
