NFYC – Maintenance Day 2
The second maintenance day got off to a cracking start as “Team Patio” set up for another day repairing the patio decking.
Hugh and Nigel set about cleaning the bar & all of the glasses, then they cleared out the admin cupboard. Dicky Duddles put the second coat of paint on the toilets walls while Lee filled up the new outboard flushing tank and installed the new club house sign that was kindly donated by him next to the walk way and then he clipped up the water pipe that has been hanging for the last 7 years while racing the tide as not to get his feet wet.
Howard painted the new outboard stand for members to service their outboards on. The light brown chairs have found a new home thanks to Hugh for moving them.
Barbara and Hugh were the cooks for the day, feeding all the workers with soup and bacon rolls for lunch, we all sat down for a chin wag and to watch the sailing boats go down the river. Not long now till most of us launch for the new sailing season.
Just one small item left to finish on the patio area, we are looking for a team to fill in the hand rails to create a windbreak. The boards are on the patio, they just need a few wood working tools and screws. When completed, the club members will be able to sit on the patio and not get a draft on their legs. Please see the flag officers for more information.
Finally a BIG thank you to all the club members who supported their club by giving up their free time and turning out over the two maintenance days. It was so nice to see so many club members taking pride in this historical building that is our club house.
